So I am ending the year without sending Christmas cards. Very bad ..I am sorry I know, but I have been just to out of it and lazy.
Tomorrow I am ready to go with a bunch of carne asada, 5 fresh lobster tails a friend caught in Redondo Beach, Meep Meep, enough clothes to wear for a year, and plenty of other junk food items drinks and things I have packed but will probably never use.
We plan to be in Glamis for Christmas through New Years & I can't wait. There won't be as many people there with me throughout the week, but I plan to relax and work on my tan. The weather channel says that there are supposed to be thunderstorms tomorrow but in the 70's till New Years & thats fine with me.
All 3 dogs will be going along with the golden child "Meep Meep". Henrietta has miraculously survived her cold she caught from Red and I think she will be safe to stay home and eat and drink on her own. This was definately that chickens 3rd life and Im not sure if I will have the patience in the future if she has anymore problems.
So off I go till next year. Hopefully I can have some happier and funner things to blog about. My new years resolution is going to be "No Drama" somehoe I have the feeling IT will find me within the first week or two of the new year but Im going to try my best.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Years !!!!!!!!!

Ok so her eye looks much better today ...I took a video of her in the chicken hospital.
Saturday, November 6, 2010
Ok -- well my new chicken needs a name ..that is if it LIVES !! I brought home a sick chicken.
Meep Meep went crazy for her and now thinks hes the man more than ever. He has been very mean to Henrietta lately so I thought it would be a good idea to get him another girl to chase around and not traumatize poor Henrietta so much.
The chicken is red, very big and fluffy. She definately weighs more than Henrietta. I have a short clip of her this is when I noticed she has white foam coming out of one of her eyes, then later noticed she was sneezing while I had her seperated from the other chickens.
Kevin wants to name her "Red", but I think thats a little too obvious. Meeo Meep, Henrietta and Red ? I think we can come up with something better.

Im not sure if you can tell from the video I took the other day, but Meep Meep has some serious hormone issues. As soon as he sees Henrietta he chases and attacks her. If she's not there to be pecked at then he pecks me.

Just the other day I realized that it is 2010 and that I am 35.
Seriously ....where has my head been ??? In Denial ??
Anyhow I havent been up to much. Monday nights I have a biology class from 7pm to 10pm, Wednesdays is a Biology Lab from 6:30 to 9 ish and then I am also taking a Geography class online. I STILL have to say online classes are the best ! They allow me to think, organize and prioritize my own way.
I have also been volunteering for the cute bunnies at the campus. There are so many rabbits left it seems like it will be forever before they find a home for them all.
Mammoth was so pretty and I can't wait to go back again.
Our next planned trip is to San Jose for my mom's birthday and to see the Dalai Lama. Then I believe 2 weeks after that will be the first Glamis trip of the season. I can't wait to see all of our friends that we only get to see that time of the year.
Im just so lazy Im going to attch the entire album.

So we are going camping this weekend ....
We plan to fish, hike, ride bikes and canoe.
Yes ...canoe.... One of Kevin's customers gave him a canoe today. I am not even sure how to canoe? Do you use oars ? How many people can fit in one ? I have no idea. All I know is that the water is very cold and if we start to sink we will probably get hypothermia. So of course Kevin will get to try it out first.
muahahahahah
I have so much to do before we leave. I have homework for 2 classes that has to be submitted ...if they had wi fi at camp I could do it there but I doubt they will. I also need to get my animals ready ..feed the dogs ... chickens ..cat.. make sure my sister plans to be here.
Meep Meep is crowing as I type. He will be staying home as I found out our camp site is right across from the camp host. I think we might take Molly since shes small enough to fit in a purse and if we leave her home she would be in the house which means ..yuck.
Im so procrastinating right now thinking of things to say that really arent important. I should be studying for my test tonight. Doing my homework and loading my things.
Well, I should have plenty of pictures to post when I get back. That might be fun ?

To me it all seems very simple.
If a person has lied, used, manipulated or angered you numerous times it is just best to walk away and move on. I am not sure how people can allow negative people to keep entering their lives. It must be some sick disorder from childhood for the need of acceptance and the desire to please.
We have moved on from many. One just recently, and it seems after we finally get rid of this one somebody finally realizes how much of a friend this person never was.
It amazes me how people can be so blind and ignorant. When someone is telling you that you are being taken advantage of you would think to take notice while it was happening. No, instead we wait until something very bad happens that does not give us the oppurtunity to even make a decision as to whether or not we want this person to be a part off our lives.
Just because people have been in your life for a while or forever does not mean you are entitled to accept their behaviour or that you should have to.
Now to hear the whining about another person whom ive told him about over and over.
When will he ever learn and how much longer will I have to deal with it.

Did I tell you I will be going to a teaching from the Dalai Lama?
In San Jose October 12th.
http://www.gyutocenter.org/
From my last few posts Im going to need it.
"Written by 11th-century master Langri Tangpa, Eight Verses of Training the Mind is a classic text in the genre of lojong, or mind training. Lojong focuses on developing appropriate regard for self and others, turning obstacles into opportunities for positive change, and cultivating compassion for all beings. The Dalai Lama describes this work as one of his main sources of inspiration."

I will never understand why people lie.
I think I was around 6 years old when I realized that if I told a lie eventually I would get caught, and when I got older I found that telling the truth made life much easier and simpler. Like we don't already have enough to worry about then to have to try and remember what lies we told and to whom.
Anyhow please dont lie to me ..the truth will eventually come out. It is much easier to tell the truth the first time then to have to find out your lie is no longer a secret. Also it is a bad idea to make up more lies for your original lie. It makes you look pathetic, ignorant and sad.
Today I plan to go see the bunnies again. Im still thinking about "when" I should bring one home.

Most people would rather be certain they're miserable, than risk being happy.” Dr. Robert Anthony
1 comments Posted by Kevin & Karen O'Dell at 1:37 PMI have decided there are just some people who will be nothing other than miserable people their entire lives because they don't know how to live any other way.
Along their journey they will make sure to make everyone else around them miserable too.
Personally I think these people should just put themselves and others around them out of their misery and go drown themselves.
Now to go tend to my crowing Meep Meep who is anything but miserable and makes everyone around him happy. :0)

Good thing they all understand already that I m crazy ...but not really.
We dont have much planned other than swimming and a barbeque. It should be a nice relaxing weekend.
Hopefully when we get home we have a letter in the mail from FORD offering us a bright shiny new truck. I think I will have better luck playing the lottery.

So this morning I was working out listening to "Coldplay" when I heard a strange noise coming from the backyard. I immediately assumed Molly had gotten out and was attacking my chickens so I ran into the living room first to count dogs when I saw all 3 were inside. I asked Kevin what the heck are they barking at and he said they hadnt barked or made any noise at all. So I RUNNN out to the backyard to see a hawk perched in my apricot tree and my chickens hiding in a bush. The hawk is pretty aggresive -- it flew right in front of Kevin and hasnt left my yard yet. We need to go to Walmart today to get dog food ...miight also be bringing home a BB Gun ..I am NOT going to experience the "circle of life" in my backyard with my chickens as bait.

Holding my Breath and Keeping my Fingers Crossed
1 comments Posted by Kevin & Karen O'Dell at 10:42 AMSo our USED new to us truck is in the shop again. Something about a tranny and engine plates and other things that I have no idea about but have heard before. I started the "buy back" process with FORD 2 days ago. The service manager told me that they have already talked with him requesting service paperwork and we shoudl have an answer within a week.
The PERFECT solution would be for them to EXCHANGE our truck for the same one but BRAND NEW we would have to pay for anything extra on the new truck. Another option would be for them to just pay us for what we paid when we bought the truck MINUS mileage, they could also throw in an extended warranty. Ill take the perfect solution and prefer a new truck. Ive never heard of it happening to anyone, and I doubt it is something thet do very often. Im just hoping that the decision gets put into the hands of someone who feels like being extra soecial nice and making someones day.
So everyone please hold your breath ..pray ...cross your fingers

This past weekend at the river was alot of fun. Some friends were at Lake Mohave and were so nice to invite us out for the day on Saturday ...Thank you Beth, Craig, Krisitn & Brian !! The weather was perfect ..probably about 102 degrees which is just right for swimming in the cold water.
We drive past alot of desert to get there. I beleive the road closer to the hills is old route 66 -- you can see alot of old run down motels and gas stations as the road doesnt have many people driving down it anymore.

So this weekend I will be traveling to Topock. Sooo not excited. The current weather report says it will be 102 degrees which is better than what it said yesterday (108 with severe thunderstorms).
I plan to make it productive by dropping off some more "dress up" clothes I have (you can never have enough) and to bring back our blow up boat and some other miscellaneous items. Kind of nice to be able to be a hoarder with a trailer and a river house. If anything ever happened to me people would be overwhelmed with all of the great junk I have.
Since I am back to my blog ...really trying this time ...I will take some pictures. Hopefully of something new good and exciting and NOT the hood of my truck.
Hope everyone else has a fun weekend !!

Ha ha or so it will seem with my next 5 or so posts. I had a bunch of videos that I couldnt resist sharing of the chickens.
Meep Meep is my baby and Henrietta is the egg layer ....
Actually I love them both just the same but if I HAD TO pick which one to be carried away by a hawk ...well naturally I think the hawk would pick the bright white one ?? So i wash Henrietta and Molly with my silver shampoo once a week to make sure they are sparkling clean. I sometimes wash Molly 2 or 3 times a week. Right now Molly even has a red mohawk so she resembles a chicken even more than usual.
First video finding out my baby Meep Meep will not lay eggs
1 comments Posted by Kevin & Karen O'Dell at 1:11 PMI didnt realize how big he has gotten and all of the different cute little sounds he used to make ... awwwww....
Henrietta checking out the 2nd floor of her new house.
Not too exciting ...
Wonderful video of Henrietta after she was attacked by the ferocious Molly.

We just came back from spending a little over a week traveling to St. Anthony's Idaho to camp at Idaho Dunes RV. We were an hour away from Yellowstone so spent one of our days hanging out there with our friends Beth & Craig -- their two daughters Emily & Erica and niece Taylor.
Next year if we are able to make the trip again I hope to stay a night or two in Yellowstone. It was so pretty and there is so much more to see.
We took Joey and Nathan to Topock for the weekend. The weatehr was perfect for face & rock painting along with some swimming.
We had my niece Ashley and nephew Nathan spend the night. Lots if sugar involved.
I took Nathan to visit my friends farm "The Struikman's". It was alot of fun. I almost missed out on the hay ride watching the turkey.
