What Are We Doing Now ??

I can tell by this look Emma gets in her beady bird eyes that she is going to attack. It usually happens when she wants something.

With all of my Christmas decorating (more to come this weekend ...muahahaha) I decided I should carve my pumkins. It is probably a little too early for that too, but I wanted to get some seeds to plant in Arizona to see if they will grow. I bought these pumpkins at the 99 cent only store for ONLY 99 cents each !! They had more seeds in them than any pumpkins I have ever bought. So I will be planting, cooking and eating some pumpkin seeds this weekend.

Now all I have to do is decide which chicken or chicken's to bring along.

Ok I know it isn't even Halloween yet, but spending so much time at the river lately organizing and getting things ready for Thanksgiving I just had to put my tree up. This weekend I plan to put clear lights on th eoutside of the house. fa la la la la ...la la la la

Last night I deactivated my Facebook. I was addicted and tired of it. Who would really care that I was checking into "K & K's River Ranch" a page I had made for the AZ house or that Henrietta is laying an egg. Most importantly I didnt care that a girl from higschool felt sick or someone brought their lunch to work today. It was starting to seem like people are in a competition for the most "likes" and replies. Well, I quit ....for now. I know mylife is a bit more interesting thsn all of that.

So I am back to my blog boring people with probably the same pictures I would on Facebook but hopefully without drama. I missed my blog.

Or so Kevin said when I first met him.

Umm yes there is a chicken in every picture and yes I did a little dance ..how Emma survived through all of her camping trips ...

Well she really isnt a baby anymore but she sure was cute .......

I found Meep Meep hiding in a hole ..I assumed he was trying to suprise attack Billy ... a few days later Billy plucked all the feathers out of Meep Meeps head and butt while we went to Yogurtland. I felt so bad when I got home I mixed my left over yogurt with chicken antibiotics so Meep Meep could have some and not get an infection ... a week or so later Kevin saw my left overs and ate them ...

Family friends were so nice to bring me over a little chick from their farm. SHE is going to grow up to be like "Red" a Rhode Island Red. She is super cute and super whiney like all baby chickens. All of the other chicks are doing fine ..except Bill who is becoming very naughty. Since he has started crowing I leave him in the garage at night and sometime when I go to get him out he bites me, he bites poor Mia and she runs from him, and he has started fighting with Meep Meep. I read an article that said chickens have strong cognitive behavioural skills so Im trying to train him to be a better chicken. We will see. So today we went to KMART to get a basket for my bike. I told Kevin I wanted it for Molly because we all know how embarassed he gets about the chicken.
Meep meep Loved it ..I think ...he made his "meep meep meep meep" noise the whole time while bobbing his head up and down.

I sware chickens have to be the most photogenic animals. They stay still and pose everytime I do a photo session with them -- yes a photo session. hee hee

Last weekend I went outside to visit my beloved Meep Meep when he attacked me. Like ran after me and tried jumping on me digging his little nails through my wonderful fuzzy green new pajamas leaving a small cut on my leg. Later that day I walked outside and everything was fine. So today I did a test with the green jammies and Meep Meep attacked them. Either he does not like the color green or the BIG owl eyes scare him.

The little chicks which I am still not sure of what they are ... are so much smaller than the older chickens.

The "breeder" refers to them as "mini chickens" and if googled they come up a "Serama's" but I am still a little unsure.

ha ha ok you know I cant blog without adding a chick pic or two ...

Our niece Ashley was in the Talent show tonight singing "Love Story" by Taylor Swift. She sang it all by herself with a kareoke track to the song.

For my class that I am taking we had an extra credit assignment to send the teacher a link to a music recording from the 1920's. So of course I googled billboard music of the 1920's since I had no idea of any artists and after listening to a few I found one that for some reason makes me feel very emotional ..I tried to look online and see if I could find what it is about but havent been able to find anything.

Ok -- well the guy said they are "sister's" but I can tell from the new chicks comb and feathers that she is a few weeks older, and the ONLY thing that cincerns me is that it is more red than Mia's almost white one. One of the things the internet says about distinguishing a rooster from a hen as a chick is the color of the comb, but who knows it could be a tale.

The new baby chic will be Mia and her SISTER that will be getting here on Friday will be Bella. I am so excited because Mia is so lonely and too friendly. Im afraid when she get's out into the chicken world she will be sad and confused with those big fat chickens Henrietta and Red.

Ok I tell the chicken Im its mommy way too many times but please imagine that this is all in front of Kevin ..and if anything it is to torment him ... but I am the chicks mommy.
